1. Who we are
benavo is an independent app studio operated by Elias Frehner, based in Switzerland. This policy applies to all apps published under the benavo name and to this website (benavo.ch).
2. Our approach to data
We believe software should collect as little data as practical. Some benavo apps can work mostly or fully on your device. Others need cloud sync, messaging, AI processing, or shared accounts to provide their core features.
When a server or third-party service is needed, we use it for the feature you asked for and keep the scope as small as possible. We do not sell your data, build advertising profiles, or add ad networks.
3. What we store
The exact data depends on the app. It may include local app data such as game settings, study cards, invoices, life scores, or vocabulary progress. It may also include server-side data where the app needs online features, such as accounts, shared inventories, emergency contacts, user suggestions, or sync data.
benavo backends are hosted at Hetzner in Germany. If you want to know what server-side data we store for your account, or want to see or delete it, email us at elias@benavo.ch.
4. Payments
In-app purchases, unlocks, subscriptions, and optional donations are processed by Apple via the App Store. We do not receive, access, or store your full payment card information. Apple's privacy policy governs App Store transactions.
5. Analytics and tracking
We do not use ad networks or sell behavioral data. Some apps may use basic operational data that is necessary to run an account, sync content, process a request, prevent abuse, or debug a problem.
6. Website (benavo.ch)
This website is a simple informational site. We do not use ad tracking or behavioral profiling on benavo.ch.
7. Third-party services
Some app features depend on third-party services. For example, KNOWLI sends selected notes, images, or PDF pages to OpenAI when you ask it to generate flashcards. Messaging, App Store payments, Apple iCloud, or similar platform features may also involve third parties.
We cannot control what those third-party companies do inside their own systems. Their processing is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We try to use these services only where they are necessary for the feature.
8. Your rights
For local-only data, you can usually delete the app or its local data on your device. For apps with benavo accounts or server-side data, you can request access or deletion by emailing elias@benavo.ch.
9. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll update the date above. If an app starts using data in a materially different way, we will explain that through the app, App Store release notes, or this website.
